UNC Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders (CEED) is now accepting applications for its 2020 Summer Research Fellowship Program!  This unique and rewarding opportunity provides trainees with valuable research experience working with a diverse and productive interdisciplinary team. Summer research fellowships are competitive positions that are open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students who are interested in an 8-week, 40 hour per week experience at CEED. Fellows receive a $2,500 stipend upon completion of their time at UNC and will be given project and mentor assignments based on areas of interest, availability, and research skills. Research experiences are planned prior to the summer to enable fellows to “hit the ground running.” One to two summer fellows are typically selected each year.

One of our past fellows encourages interested applicants to apply because she “really enjoyed working with the UNC CEED faculty and staff [because] they provided a great learning environment.” She also characterized her time with the program as “inspiring [because] it helped shape [her] career path, and it created a network for career development.” Applications are due by March 15, 2020 and can be found on our website (https://www.med.unc.edu/psych/eatingdisorders/training-opportunities/) One letter of recommendation, a current CV, and an academic transcript must also be submitted to complete the application. Fellows typically start in early June and complete their work in early to mid-August. Questions can be directed to the fellowship coordinator, Dr. Jessica Baker, jhbaker@med.unc.edu
