Eating Behaviors During Midlife Research Study

Are you a woman between the ages of 42-52 who binge eats or overeats?

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking volunteers for a research study examining eating behaviors during the menopause transition.

If you are interested in participating in the study, you will be asked to complete a series of questionnaires and a brief interview about a range of eating behaviors at UNC. You will then be asked to collect daily saliva samples and complete daily questionnaires, throughout the course of the day, for no more than 40-days in the comfort of your own home. It is from the saliva samples we can obtain information about ovarian hormone levels. At the end of the study period you will return your saliva samples to research study staff at UNC. The time you will spend at appointments at UNC will be approximately 1-hour. It will take you approximately 45-minutes daily to collect your saliva and complete the daily questionnaires. At the completion of the study you may receive up to $225 for completing the study.

You may be eligible if:

  • You are a women between the ages of 42-52
  • Recently started the menopause transition
  • Binge eat or overeat

Study participation requires two in person appointments and in home self-assessments. Eligible participants may be compensated up to $225 at study completion.
