UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS IN STATISTICAL GENETICS AND EATING DISORDERS

ANNOUNCEMENT and APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

The Eating Disorders Program in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is accepting applications for MD or PhD scientists for postdoctoral positions in the field of Statistical Genetics and Eating Disorders. Appointments will be for two years, with possible extension for another year in exceptional circumstances. Salary is commensurate with qualifications but in all cases equals NIH post-doctoral stipends. Criteria for selection include demonstrated experience in the area of statistical genetics, demonstrated interest in eating disorders, strong potential to become an independent investigator, interest and (to a lesser degree) experience in project areas, strength in computation and in verbal and written communication, curiosity, and genuine commitment to advancing the scientific rigor of the eating disorders field. Applicants with specific interests in the genetics or biology of eating disorders are strongly encouraged. Fellowships are restricted to US citizens or permanent residents. 4) One-page statement of interest which includes a one paragraph summary of your previous training, one paragraph about your previous research experience, one paragraph about career goals, and a description of your specific research interests within the eating disorders field.

In addition, three (3) letters of recommendation should be submitted directly to the Director of Training, Cynthia Bulik, from referees. Electronic letters are acceptable.
