Help Us Welcome Our Summer Research Fellows!

We are excited to welcome this summer’s research fellows, Lauren Metzger & Jenny Claire Knight! They are joining our research team for 6 weeks to develop new research skills and experience life in a multidisciplinary team. They will help develop and test our new iPhone application, edit modules for our online prevention program for college students, and assist on various writing projects. Stop by the Bulik lab and say hello!

ImageLauren Metzger- Lauren first joined our lab during the summer of 2010 as a research trainee. Since then, she graduated from Kenyon College in 2011 with a BA in psychology after completing an honors thesis about the superwoman ideal (ask her about this cool project!). She has most recently completed the first year of a Masters in Social Work here at UNC, and she ultimately plans to pursue a career in college counseling or community mental health. Aside from all of her professional endeavors, she is an avid runner and completed her first marathon this May.

Jenny Claire Knight- Jenny Claire is currently a rising senior at James Madison University in ImageHarrisonburg, Virginia. She is majoring in psychology and minoring in theater, and she plans to work in the clinical psychology field. She is currently the vice president and treasurer of Active Minds, a club that works to “change the conversation about mental health” by removing the stigma associated with asking for help and treatment. She is also a self-proclaimed movie buff, writing movie reviews for the school paper and working as the publicity chair for the film club. In the upcoming year, she will be either be writing her thesis or participating in an internship at her college’s counseling center to complete her psychology degree.

Welcome, Jenny Claire and Lauren!
